BLOOD
OF BEORN - THE STARTING SKIN-CHANGER by Colin Chapman
Blood of Beorn is an innate Mastery of Shapes spell, requiring no
commands or gestures, and inflicting no weariness, and is equal to 12
picks. The ability is paid for by doing the following during character
generation:
a) Remove any initial Order ability (worth three picks).
In essence, the ability to skin-change becomes the character's first
ability.
b) Remove the five additional Order skills.
c) Reduce the character's Free Picks to one instead of
five.
A Beorning character with this ability must be a Middle Man (Beorning
Package), and will most likely be of the Barbarian or Magician Order.
The innate ability only permits the individual to assume the shape of
a single animal (a bear), and the transformation back or forth
requires a full minute. Any objects worn or carried (with only a few
magical exceptions) meld with the character's bear form.
The character's Wits, Willpower, Wisdom, and Skills all remain
unchanged, but in bear form, their physical Attributes are replaced
with the following:
Attributes:
Nimbleness 7 (+0)
Perception 7 (+0)
Strength 14 (+4)
Vitality 13 (+3)
Reactions: Stamina +4, Swiftness +0
Defense: 10
Health: 17
Special Abilities: Natural Weapons (Bite 2d6+2, Claw 2d6+4),
Thick Fur
and Hide (counts as 2 points of armour), Size: Large (+1 Healthy Wound
Level)
